Habitat. Sandy muddy shore, seagrass bed, and reef flat, intertidal to shallow subtidal.

Distribution. Wide distribution in the Indo-Pacific.

Indonesia: Lombok, Sulawesi , and Maluku.

Remarks. This is a very common species in the littoral tropical area of the Indo-West Pacific, and is easily recognized by the bright red color with white spots on the shield, abdomen, chelipeds, and ambulatory legs.
