Pseudopaguristes monoporus ( Morgan, 1987b) View in CoL
( Fig. 8F View Figure 8 )
Habitat. Sandy, muddy and gravel shore, reef f lat; intertidal to 20 m.
Distribution. Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, and
Guam. Indonesia: Lombok and Maluku.
Remarks. Originally described as Paguristes monoporus by Morgan (1987b), this species possesses only a left gonopore in females, the size of the first left pleopod is reduced and the left second pleopod is absent in males, only eight functional gills are present. This species was transferred to Pseudopaguristes McLaughlin, 2002b , by Rahayu (2005). This is a very common species on sandy and muddy shores. The color of the specimens in this study was lighter than those described by Rahayu (2022) for the specimens from Singapore. However, the red longitudinal stripe on the ocular peduncles and the blue color of the antennular peduncles, specific characters for this species, were still noticeable.
