Boffachrysis leucophris ( Mocsáry, 1889)
Chrysis (Tetrachrysis) leucophris Mocsáry, 1889: 409 . Holotype ♂; Brazil: Amazonas, Fonte Boa (HNHM, examined). Chrysis leucophrys : unjustified emendation by Dalla Torre (1892: 75); Ducke (1911).
Chrysis (Tetrachrysis) leucophrys : Bischoff (1913); Ducke (1913).
Pleurochrysis leucophris : Kimsey (1985); Kimsey & Bohart (1991); Lucena et al. (2019); Lucena & Almeida (2022). Exsecochrysis leucophrys : Lucena et al. (2024: 32).
The original spelling leucophris has to be regarded as correct.According to Code Art. 33.5.1 incorrect transliteration or Latinization, or the use of an inappropriate connecting vowel, are not considered inadvertent errors. In this case, the name has a Greek origin and was incorrectly Latinized as in the example given below Code Art. 32.5.1.1. See also the case of Cleptidea xanthomelas ( Mocsáry, 1889) below.
