Subgenus Collitoptyx Volynkin, 2023

Type species: Thysanoptyx incurvata Wileman & West, 1928 .

Diagnosis. The male genitalia of the subgenus ( Figs 34–41 View Figures 34–37 View Figures 38–41 ) are characterised by the following characters. (1) The vinculum is moderately long with relatively broad sclerotised ventral bridge between the arms. (2) The juxta is connected with the proximal sections of the sacculi by the short membrane of annelifer, which makes the sacculi strongly folded inwards while valvae open. (3) The anterior (cranial) wall of the juxtal fold bears a double caulis consisting of two narrow ribbon-like plates connecting the sclerotised apical part of the juxta with the base of the anellus. (4) The costa is relatively long, occupying nearly a half of the dorsal margin of the valva, while the valvula is short. (5) The conjuga is triangular proximally, rod-like apically, and separated from its counterpart by the diaphragmal membrane. (6) The lamella centralis is flat, nearly straight and short. (7) The sacculus is strongly dilated posteriorly and bears a large triangular process directed dorsad. (8) The distal saccular process is unilobate, short, knife-shaped and directed distad. (9) The anellus is membranous. (10) The vesica is broad (in proportion to the phallus width) and has a broad but short, protrusion-like diverticulum medially. The female genitalia of the nominate subgenus ( Figs 52–57 View Figures 52–58 ) are characterised by (1) the short and membranous ductus bursae; (2) the broad and sclerotised posterior section of the corpus bursae bearing a long and broad longitudinal protrusion laterally or ventrally; and (3) the short and globular anterior section of the corpus bursae.
