Lectotype (Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 4: 135. 1988): [icon] " Uvifera arbor Americana convolvulacea, fructu punctato Barbadensibus " in Plukenet, Phytographia: t. 237, f. 4. 1692; Almag. Bot.: 394. 1696. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 98: 171 ( BM-SL) .

Current name: Coccoloba venosa L. ( Polygonaceae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (in J. Bot. 51: 123. 1913) provided an extensive discussion but did not indicate a type.
