Ans der Ordnung Pinnipedata
sind mehrere grofse Robben, besonders den gemäfsigten südlichen Küsten eıgen, von Natantibus besitzt Süd-Amerika zwei Manati's, wovon der Eine in den grofsen Flüssen und Seezungen vorkommt. Auch gröfsere Wallfische finden sich, besonders an der westlichen Küste.
