ETYMOLOGY
Named in honour of F. T. Thomsen (assistant chief locust officer in the Division of Entomology, Department of Agriculture, of the Transvaal Colony in 1906)

Previous records: 8–14 mm; Kuzikus specimen (n=1): 12.5 mm.
PERIOD OF ADULT ACTIVITY.
Flight period of the species covering nearly all the year.
