A scattered neotropical species occurring primarily in the Amazonian lowland, known from Brazil, Suriname, Venezuela and Bolivia ( Bastos 2012), recorded also from Colombia ( Campos et al. 2014) and the Pacific coast of Ecuador ( Schäfer-Verwimp et al. 2013). First record for Central America and from altitudes between 670–1630 m. However, Bastos (2012) reported this species even from higher altitudes ( 1200–1910 m) from Espírito Santo, Brazil.
