Females

1. Frons and vertex with very dense, fine, tight and almost coalescent punctures. Metanotum with very dense and fine, coalescent punctures. Dorso-median area of propodeum with distinct prominent ridge apically; with very dense, coarse and coalescent punctures. Postero-lateral and median areas of propodeum with dense, coarse and deep punctures.......................................................................................... M. funesta Castagnet & Cabon , sp. nov.

– Frons and vertex with dense but spacer and coarser punctures. Metanotum with dense, coarse, clearly not coalescent punctures. Dorso-median area of propodeum without distinct ridge apically or weakly visible; with dense, coarse and clearly not coalescent punctures. Postero-lateral and median areas of propodeum with scattered, minute and shallow punctures or largely impunctate ................................................................................................... 2

2. Genae and vertex largely impunctate, but separated by punctate area. Pronotum in lateral view, at transition area between dorsal and lateral surfaces forming prominent crest; along scutum largely impunctate; with very dense, fine and coalescent punctures on rest. Scutum largely impunctate, apical part of scutum impunctate medially, not forming continuous band of punctures along scutellum. Scutellum and metanotum largely impunctate medially and apically. Dorso-median area of propodeum with deep and coarse punctures basally and medially; with very fine and shallow punctures laterally......... M. luzonensis (Rohwer)

– Genae and vertex clearly punctate. Pronotum in lateral view, at transition area between dorsal and lateral surfaces more or less gradual and rounded without distinct prominent crest; along scutum finely impunctate; with dense, coarse and not coalescent punctures on rest. Scutum more or less punctate medially, apical part of scutum with dense, uninterrupted band of punctures along scutellum. Scutellum and metanotum largely punctate medially and apically. Dorso-median area of propodeum with deep, coarse and similar size punctures across entire surface................................................... 3

3. Scutum with large impunctate area medially. T2 with distinct almost impunctate preapical band. Mesosoma View in CoL dorsally with noticeably reduced golden tomentum. Forewing yellowish hyaline; with two recurrent veins. Large size ( 32–35 mm). Indonesia......................................................................... [ M. habrocoma (Smith) ]

– Scutum punctate medially, with V-shaped impunctate area. Preapical area of T2 entirely punctate, with more or less sparse punctures. Mesosoma View in CoL dorsally largely covered by golden tomentum. Forewing dark; with one recurrent veins. Smaller size ( 22–27 mm). The Philippines............................................................ M. bitschi Castagnet
