Culex ( Microculex) worontzowi Pessoa & Galvão, 1936: 86 View in CoL ( ♂ G, ♀, Le). Holotype in FSP-USP. Type locality: Tabatinguera , São Paulo, Brazil.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 3): Tergum IX lobes protruding; distance between lobes twice basal width; apex with 12–15 simple, short, straight setae spread equally on surface of lobe. Gonocoxite oblong; subapical lobe with 7 sinuous setae, 4 in apical area longer than the others, 3 short setae in basal area. Columnar process developed, glabrous; 2 strong, straight setae at apex ( a and b), inserted at same level; seta b slightly longer than seta a; ventromesal surface with 4 or 5 fine, straight setae, all equal in length. Gonostylus elongate, claw-like; abruptly pointed in terminal area. Broad, leaf-like gonostylar claw with pointed apex. Aedeagus with claw-like ventral process close to apical area; dorsal and dorsolateral processes pointed. Aedeagal sclerite wide, hook-like; apical process weakly sclerotized. Tergum X with curved outline. Paraproct short with broad basal region; crown with 11 simple, curved, pointed blades.
