3. Anacronicta infausta (Walker, 1856: 237) View in CoL ( Mamestra )
( Figs. 11 View FIGURES 7–12 , 19 View FIGURES 17–20 )
Type locality. Silhet , Bangladesh.
Material examined. Laos, 1♂, Phou Khoun, 27. April. 2013, A. Miyano, leg. (In the collection of Keitaro Eda, Japan).
Diagnosis. Anacronicta infausta ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 7–12 ) is very similar to the new species, A. albicans sp. nov. ( Fig. 7, 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ), but differs in having more contrasting dark elements in the wing pattern and an area of ochre-yellowish coloration of the inner part of the hindwings. In the structure of male genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17–20 ), it differs by the shape of the valva and the position of the cornuti in the vesica.
Distribution. India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh) ( Hampson, 1894, 1913); Pakistan (Swat Valley) ( Ashfaq et al. 2017); Nepal ( Yoshimoto 1995); Bangladesh, China (Tibet), Thailand ( Kononenko & Pinratana 2005); Laos ( Eda 2020); northern Myanmar, Sumatra ( Balint et al. 2023).
Remarks. Two barcoded sequences (BIN BOLD: AAZ7138) from Arunachal Pradesh (BOLD: BC ZSM Lep 48899) and West Bengal (BOLD: BC ZSM Lep 48897) ( India) ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ) were shared with us by Dr. Axel Hausmann (ZSM, Germany) and used in the genetic analysis.
