2. Anacronicta himalaya Hreblay, Katona & Tóth, 2023: 115 , 21–22, fig. 2, 78
( Figs. 10 View FIGURES 7–12 , 18 View FIGURES 17–20 )
Type locality. M, Nepal, Solu Khumbu Himal , 10 km S of Lukla, Bupsa, 2300 m, 3.VII.1993, leg. M. Hreblay & G. Csorba, Gen. Präp. Hreblay N: 5860 (coll. Hreblay).
Diagnosis. Anacronicta himalaya is closely related to A.infausta , particularly in the structure of the basal diverticulum of the vesica in the male genitalia. However, A. himalaya can be distinguished from all other species in the group by its lighter gray base color and the distinct gold-like kidney-shaped mark on its forewings.
Distribution. Nepal Himalayas ( Balint et al. 2023).
Remarks. The species was recently described by Bálint et al. (2023) based on specimens from the late Dr. Márton Hreblay’s collection (1963–2000), housed at the Hungarian Natural History Museum in Budapest. Unfortunately, we do not have any barcoded specimens, which is why A. himalaya was not included in the phylogenetic analysis.
