1. Anacronicta albargentea Speidel & Kononenko, 1998: 557 , fig. 17, 34
( Figs. 9 View FIGURES 7–12 , 17 View FIGURES 17–20 )
Type locality. North Vietnam, Cha-pa, Mt. Fan-si-pan, 2215’ N 10346 View Materials ’E, 1500–1800m, 8–28.v.1993, lux. leg. V. SINJAEV & M. SIMONOV (ZFMK).
Materials examined. India: Manipur. 1 ♂, Shirui Hills GoogleMaps (Site 3), 25.11715°N 94.44560°E, 2190m, 13.IX.2019, coll. JS Irungbam / IJ2514 / Genitalia slide: 263 / HK15-8; Arunachal Pradesh. 2 ♂, West Kameng District, Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary, Lama Camp GoogleMaps , 27°8’16’’N, 92°27’33’’E, 06.V.2022, coll. local collector.
Distribution. India (Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh) (in the present study); North Vietnam; North Thailand (Spiedel & Kononenko 1998); south China ( Kononenko & Pinratana 2005).
Diagnosis. The species resembles A. nitida ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–6 ) and A. horishana Matsumura, 1931 ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–6 ) in forewing pattern, dark shadow near the reniform, and the dark brown streak from the lower reniform to the outer margin, as well as the light area between the reniform, dark streak, postmedian fascia, and costal margin. A. albargentea differs by its whitish forewing ground color, more contrasting dark wing patterns, and ochreous-yellowish outer hindwings. In male genitalia, A. albargentea ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17–20 ) has a more massive structure, longer sclerotized pointed peniculi of the tegumen, and a differently shaped and armed vesica.
Remarks. One sample was successfully sequenced and barcoded (BOLD Process ID: NMJI005-23) and has been assigned the BIN BOLD: AAG5966. The species was originally described from materials collected in North Vietnam (1,500–1800m), North Thailand (900–1400m) (Spiedel & Kononenko 1998) and is currently reported from northeast India (Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur at 1500–2500m) as a new record for India and shows an extension of its distribution range westward by the species in northeast India.
