Genus THECOMYIA Perty, 1833 View in CoL
Thirteen species, all Neotropical, have been collected in 13 different countries ranging from central Guatemala to southern Brazil. One species occurs only in Central America, eight species occur only in South America, and four species are found in both Central and South America. One possibly undescribed species was collected in French Guiana (1♂ ex. AMNH, in USNM).
