Genus SEPEDOMERUS Steyskal, 1973 View in CoL
Three species: one known only from Hispaniola and Puerto Rico, one from South America extending as far north as Panama and Trinidad and Tobago, and one wide ranging, known from the United States (Texas) through Central America and the southernmost Caribbean Islands (both Trinidad and Tobago) south to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Sepedomerus needs revision with examination of type specimens [two in USNM, three in NHMUK]. In USNM are 1♂ from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and 1♀ from Nayarit, Mexico, which may represent two undescribed species, along with other undetermined specimens. Males of S. caeruleus and S. macropus remain to be correctly associated with their respective females. Laboratory-reared male and female specimens from known parents are available in CUIC.
