FIGS: Marinoni & Mathis 2000 (antenna, ♂ terminalia, ♂ genitalia), Knutson & Vala 2011 (wing), this paper (habitus, dorsal head, anepisternal seta)
BIOL: Unknown. Stephen A. Marshall ( DEBU) photographed an adult of this species far out in an intertidal area on the coast of Chile, along with Canacidae , almost all of which are exclusively intertidal in habitat preference. All records of C. callisceles are from coastal locations, where perhaps the larvae feed on operculate marine snails.
