Hoplopleura oryzomydis Pratt & Lane
Charleston Co., Wedge Plantation, 22 September 1994, ex Oryzomys palustris (Harlan) , coll. K.L. Clark.
In South Carolina, H. oryzomydis is a specific ectoparasite of the marsh rice rat, O. palustris. Hoplopleura oryzomydis also infests other Oryzomys spp. in the Neotropics. Kim et al. ( 1986) reported collections of H. oryzomydis from Bull Island and Charleston.
