TYPE SPECIES: Rhinolophus aurantius Gray, 1845 .

COMMENTS: Rhinonicteris is the correct spelling if original orthography is adhered to. Rhinonycteris Gray, 1866 , Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1866:81, is sometimes used. Reviewed by Hill (1982) who spelled it Rhinonycteris .
