General distribution. South USA to Argentina including the West Indies.
Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.
Habitat. The species is highly generalist. It is generally common, sometimes ultra-abundant, flying from sea level to 2000 m. This insect is found in semi-desert areas, urbanized environments, wastelands and secondary forests, as well as in lush forests at middle to high elevations in the Central Cordillera .
Host plants. Rubiaceae .
