General distribution. Central and South America, including Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.

Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.

Habitat. The insect is more common in low-lying open areas, including semi-desert environments.

Host plants. Solanaceae and (exceptionally) Asteraceae .

Remarks. Previously referred to as Manduca sexta jamaicensis , this taxon was synonymized with Manduca paphus by Haxaire & Mielke (2020).
