General distribution. Canada to Argentina including the West Indies.
Distribution in the DR. Widespread throughout the country.
Habitat. The species is common in all wooded environments, even in deep forests, up to 2000 m.
Host plants. The larva feeds on Euphorbiaceae , Caricaceae and Apocynaceae . It is often found on the papaya ( Carica papaya ).
