Material examined. MNCN 25.03/4311 : BV15, 96 m; coll. UMA; one living colony on a bioclast; MNCN 25.03/4312 : BV14, 96–100 m; coll. UMA; one living colony on a rock fragment.
Remarks. Although the absence of a complete ovicell, the colonies collected from the Alboran fit the description of the type material described from the Gulf of Cadiz ( Ramalho et al. 2020b) for all remaining taxonomic features and fall in the same range size. However, the material from Gulf of Cadiz was collected in deeper water ( 402–495 m) than the Alboran material ( 96–100 m).
This is the first record of this species in Mediterranean waters.
