This Saharo-Arabian species was described from Egypt based on two specimens. It is now wide spread from North Africa to the Middle East ( Minaei & Mound 2008), and is widespread in Arabian Peninsula ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ). This species is largely associated with Acacia and Zizyphus spp. (see material examined). It is very close to D. nigripes in appearance. However, it can be distinguished by reduced mid lateral pronotal setae ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 12–19 ), compared to stout setae with expended apex in D. nigripes ( Mound 1968) .
