Type locality

Cova de Vinyoles [original citation: “... Cova de Vinyoles, située dans le termino municipal de Cava (partido de Seo de Urgel, provincia de Lerida)”].

Type material

Syntypes: MZB 78-2626 ( 1 ♂), type loc., 23-VIII-1910, R. Jeannel, E. G. Racovitza & M. O. Mengel leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Type series consisting of 60 specimens originally deposited in the Biospeologica collection (Jeannel, 1910). The specimen in the MCNB collection has a label with the inscription “ TYPE ” printed in red and hand-written collection labels. We have located specimens belonging to the type series deposited in the Biospeologica collection (Jeannel, 1910, 1924a) in box 70 in the MNHNP general collection; their labels have been transcribed by Fresneda & Salgado (2016) and Fresneda et al. (2021). In the MNCNM collection (box 20) we have found a few specimens that, given the associated data and collection labels, could belong to the type series, although they do not bear any labels that identify them as such ( one specimen is indicated as a new species on its determination label).
