Amphinemura claviloba View in CoL : Baumann 1975: 12 (list); Li & Yang 2008b: 219 (redescription of male); Yang et al. 2015: 182 (male description); Chen et al. 2020: 461 (mitochondrial genome).
Adult habitus. General body color blackish-brown. Head mostly blackish-brown; antennae yellowish-brown; palpi light yellowish-brown; mouthparts yellowish-brown; thorax brown; compound eyes black. Pronotum brown, with distinct black rugosities, narrower than head. Legs uniformly brown. Wings brownish and membranous, subhyaline, veins brownish.
Female. Adult length 5.3–6.1 mm, forewing length 6.3–7.5 mm, hind wing length 5.3–6.3 mm (n = 3). Sternum 7 produced into a yellowish, extensive pregenital plate, covering half of sternum 8 ( Fig. 2a View FIGURE 2 ). Sternum 8 ( Figs. 2a–b View FIGURE 2 ) forms a pair of strongly sclerotized, rectangular subgenital plates with a distinct posterior notch, anterior apex sharp; left anterior part area yellowish and faintly sclerotized, in contrast to the half that is dark brown. Paragenital plate ( Figs. 2a–b, d View FIGURE 2 ) paired and brown, medium-sized with wavy edges, with half of plate covered by the subgenital plate. Sternum 9 trapezoid and sclerotized. There is a membranous tunnel between the sclerites, with a funnel-shaped sclerite medially that guides the way to the spermathecal duct. The genital opening is narrow and funnelled ( Figs. 2b–f View FIGURE 2 ). Paraprocts brownish, long and triangular with rounded tip; cerci short, brownish, with sparse hair.

Distribution. China (Gansu, Hubei, Sichuan).
Remarks. This species was originally described based on male specimens from Wen County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, and Emeishan, Sichuan Province. In our study, we recorded this species from Hubei Province based on male and female specimens, which represent the first record of this species from this province.
