Description of Paenibacillus aquistagni DCW 4
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rod-shaped with flagella. Colonies are white, circular, entire convex, and smooth after 3 days of incubation on MA at 28℃. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and gelatinase activity. Utilizes D-glucose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, and D-maltose. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain DCW4 (NIBRBAC000510845) was isolated from mud flat of Ganghwa, Incheon, Korea ( 37°40 ʹ 08.8 ʺ N 126°20 ʹ 07.8 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
