Description of Paenibacillus plantarum MMS 23-KR7
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rod-shaped without flagella. Colonies are transparent, circular, convex, and entire after 3 days of incubation on R2 A at 30℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, indole production, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, and urease activity. Utilizes D-glucose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, and D-maltose. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
