Description of Paenibacillus phytorum AHW 26
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rod-shaped with flagella. Colonies are white, circle undulate, convex, and smooth after 3 days of incubation on R2 A at 28℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase and urease activity. Utilizes D-glucose, D-mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, and malic acid. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannose, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain AHW26 (NIBRBAC000510803) was isolated from soil of Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, Korea ( 37°22 ʹ 18.5 ʺ N 128°29 ʹ 07.4 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
