Description of Bacillus sonorensis US View in CoL 27
Cells are Gram-staining positive and short-rods without flagella. Colonies are pale yellow, irregular, raised after 2 days of incubation on R2 A at 30℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis and urease, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, urease activities. Utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate. Does not utilize capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain US27 (NIBRBAC000510636) was isolated from wetland of Paju, Gyeonggi-do, Korea ( 37°44 ʹ 29.6 ʺ N, 126°47 ʹ 35.2 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
