Description of Jeotgalibacillus alkaliphilus MMS 23-YR12
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rod-shaped without flagella. Colonies are ivory, circular, convex and entire after 3 days of incubation on R2 A at 30℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, and urease activity. Utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and phenylacetic acid. Does not utilize capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
