Description of Mesobacillus harena e CAU 1751
Cells are Gram-staining positive and short-rod shaped with flagella. Colonies are cream, circular smooth, convex, entire and opaques after 3 days of incubation on MA at 30℃. Positive for nitrate reduction. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Utilizes N- acetyl-glucosamine. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid.
