Diagnosis: Miscophus liebigi belongs to the M. bytinskii species group and is characterized by a completely smooth and impunctate body, which is black with tibiae and AS 1 reddish ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–8 ). The pronotal collar has a tooth-shaped tip in the middle. The species is close to M. paolorosai Schmid-Egger, 2011 , from the Arabian Peninsula, and differs by the conspicuous point of collare (with indistinct swelling in M. paolorosai ) and by a more expressed striation of propodeal dorsum. Forebasitarsus has only two spines, and three in M. paolorosai .
Description of female: Body length: 5.2 mm (paratypes 5.0– 5.2 mm). Color: Black, reddish are: mandible medially, ACM, AS 1 and AS 2 below, apex of femora, tibiae, tarsi (tibiae and tarsi above with some black parts). Coxae apically with narrow yellow ring. Wing venation brown, costa black. Wings transparent, apex clouded. Morphology: Corners of medial part of ACM somewhat prominent, rounded. AS 3 as long as AS 1. Pronotal collar medially near posterior margin with tooth-shaped tip. Frons and mesosoma extremely shiny and impunctate, with some sparse and inconspicuous reticulation on lower mesopleuron. Propodeum laterally with inconspicuous striation, propodeal dorsum mediall with a fine keel, laterally finely diagonally striate ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–8 ). Angle between dorsal and back surface of propodeum (lateral view) approximately 110 o. Terga shiny, indistinctly and sparsely punctate. Forebasitarsus with two black spines, apical spine as long as second tarsal segment and half of third segment.
Male: Unknown.
Distribution: Iran.
Etymology: The species is named after Wolf-Harald Liebig, an expert on Hymenoptera from Germany who collected the holotype during the joint trip to Iran together with the first author in 2022.
Remarks: This species is widely distributed in different parts of Iran including northeastern (Razawi-Korasan), north central (Qazvin) and southern Iran (Hormozgan).
