Afrotropical Hemipeplinae
Nine species of Hemipeplinae have been described from the Afrotropical region, with most being described by Grouvelle in the early 20th century. Most species of Hemipeplinae in this region have distinct and elaborate pronotal lobes along with distinct temples. They also have larger body sizes than most other Hemipeplinae . One new monobasic genus and its species were discovered in this study, increasing the known number of Afrotropical Hemipeplinae species to ten.
