Emendation injustifiée de P. nimpha fondée sur une erreur d’interprétation, son auteur ayant considéré nimpha comme un adjectif devant s’accorder avec le genre – masculin – du nom générique. Celui-ci est pourtant un substantif en apposition, sa terminaison n'a donc pas à s'accorder avec le nom générique auquel elle est combinée. De fait, Gereys (2006: 360) a rétabli la graphie nimpha . Cette émendation constitue un synonyme objectif plus récent de Polistes nimpha ( Christ, 1791) (I.C.Z.N.: art 33.2.3).
