Current status: Anthophora (Caranthophora) stilobia Wu, 2000 View in CoL .

Remark: Without a male in hand, it is difficult to assign a species to a defined subgenus. In the case of A. stilobia , the most characteristic clypeus, labrum and mandibulae, nearly punctureless and turning to reddish, reminding so the same characteristic in the smaller A. (Caranthophora) kneuckeri Alfken, 1938 from Egypt (Holotype ♀ examined by PR in NHMB). For this reason we have no reason to change the subgeneric assignement proposed by Wu (2000).
