Corinnomma severum (Thorell, 1877) View in CoL
( Fig. 12a–d View FIGURE 12 )
Corinna severum Thorell, 1877: 481 .
Corinnomma severum View in CoL : Karsch, 1880: 374. For full synonymy, see Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001: 318.
Material. Indonesia: 1♂, Sumatra Median, Dollok , MNHNP 24197 View Materials , det. as Corinnomma by E. Simon .
Diagnosis. Males differ from those of C. javanum in the screw-like embolus tip (see Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001, fig. 469) and females in the relatively larger, closely spaced CO.
Supplementary description. Male palp with socketed sessile paracymbial spine, tibia cylindrical with slightly raised distal edge. Male and female: femora III, IV without distal constriction; three pairs of long spines on ventral tibiae I and II, two similar pairs on metatarsi I, II; distinct but light scopula for metatarsi and tarsi I, II. Carapace of female with fine pustules, larger in males. Females with small (anterior one-sixth) dorsal scute but no ventral scute; no paragenital brackets; chelicerae with low fang shield and 8–9 long curved serrate bristles; retrolateral face of chelicerae smooth. Male with dorsal scute for full length and wraps around abdomen to ventral edge and slopes gradually to anterior edge; laterally fused to genital scute and covering book lungs; distinct ventral scute ( Fig. 12a View FIGURE 12 ). Carapace profile long and flat with steep anterior and posterior edges; female and to lesser extent male with Vshaped depression anterior to fovea. Pedicel without collar. Tracheal scute broad, curved at edges in male and female.
Remarks. Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001: fig. 465 shows a full scute indicative that the type is a male (according to the description and my observations) but the caption states it is the female.
