Diagnosis. Males differ from those of B. diadens sp. nov. in the curved coniform paracymbial spine ( Fig. 26c View FIGURE 26 ). Males and females have at least two prolateral spines on tibiae II, if (not on I) and one dorsally on tibiae III and in females, the copulatory fossae are almost their length from epigastric furrow ( Fig. 26f View FIGURE 26 ).

Etymology. A noun in apposition from one of the habitats (wallum or heath) in which the species is found.

Carapace 2.52 long, 2.00 wide. Abdomen 2.48 long, 1.64 wide. Total length 5.00.

Colour: carapace light brown with brown radial mottled interstrial bands; abdomen light brown, narrow bands of white lanceolate hairs posteriorly on abdomen scute dorsally. Chelicerae red brown. Legs: femora red brown, with basal and subapical (I) or subapical bands only II, III or apical IV; patellae, tibiae and metatarsi orange brown with darker bands basally and distally. Sternum red brown, coxae and genital area pallid. Eyes, chelicerae, maxillae and labium as for genus. Legs: almost glabrous; without feathery hairs. Spines: strong ventrally on tibiae and metatarsi I and II. I: fe pv1p2d3r1; ti p2v2.2.2; me v2.2. II: fe p3d3r1; ti p2v2.2.2; me p1v2.2. III: fe p3d3r1; ti p2r2v2.2.1; me p2r2v2.2.3. IV: fe p2d3; ti p1.2 v1.2.2; me p2r3v2.2.3. Palp: fe p1d2; pa p1d1.1; ti p2d1. Palp: tibia short with shallow groove ventrally; cymbium with off-centre groove in apical cone; light scopula dorsally on cymbial tip also pallid, with short thick setae; embolus arises from keeled base and twists back in gentle hook; paracymbial spine small, conical.

Carapace 2.51 long, 1.95 wide. Abdomen 2.54 long, 1.96 wide. Totally, 5.1.

Colour: carapace dark orange brown with slightly darker fine lines along striae; abdomen brown with small oval scute for anterior eighth, two large irregular white areas and four chevrons posteriorly; pedal femora dark brown with black subdistal bands; legs I and II darker than others. Carapace: cuticle slightly rugose. AME>PME=PLE>ALE. Sternum smooth. Chelicerae with five thick setae setae in line on fang shield and one anterior to them. Legs: femora III & IV unmodified; femora rugose. Coxae mid-ventrally with 1–2 slightly thicker erect setae. Spines: long strong on ventral tibiae and metatarsi I, II. I: fe pv1p2d3r1; pa 0; ti p1v2.2.2.2; me v2.2. II: as I but ti p2v.2.2.2.2. III: fe p3d3r3; pa 0; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.2.4. IV: like III but p2d3r2. Palp: fe p1d2v3 strong bristles. Tracheal spiracle with trianguloid scute and spiracle on apex of posterior curve. Epigyne: a pair of outward facing crescentic fossae about their length from epigastric furrow and “joined” by V-shaped groove; internally, a number of basal folds and a large spermathecal head, with large pendulous lateral lobe, makes overall shape quite long.

Distribution and Habitat. Known from Proserpine, north Queensland to northern New South Wales, in areas of rainforest, closed canopy forest, or open forest.
