Diagnosis. Differs from I. kohouti sp. nov. in the brown carapace and abdomen without sheen or iridescence.

Etymology. The species epithet alludes to the ant-like appearance of the species.

Description holotype male QM S39576 View Materials

Carapace 1.76 long, 1.36 wide. Abdomen 1.76 long, 1.60 wide. Total length 3.5.

Colour: carapace brown, lightened by uniform cover of fine white hairs; evergreen black; legs, coxae dorsally all yellow; femora I and II dark brown with light large mottling; femora III and IV yellow brown with dark mottling; patellae-tarsi I–III yellowish; patella and tibia IV brown with pallid spots distally, metatarsi and tarsi IV brown; abdomen with full dark red brown dorsal scute with patches of white feathery hairs on anterior face laterally at midpoint and subterminally; ventrally, sternum orange brown, coxae yellowish, scute red brown. Carapace: Uniformly finely pustulose; all sides steep, shallow set at least 1.5 length in front of steepest posterior. Margin finely serrate. Short white feathery hairs uniformly spread. Carapace profile drops from fovea to eyes. Eyes: PME ca. two diameters apart; AME ca. one diameter apart. Cheliceral teeth: 2R, 2P. Sternum, femora and ventral coxae distinctly pustulose. Legs: femur III and more so IV with strong predistal constriction. Large white feathery hairs laterally on femora (with large black), distally on patellae and dorsally on tibiae. Scopula absent. Spines: weak on I and II, stronger on III and IV. I: fe p1d2; ti v 1.2w; me v2.2. II: fe p1d3; ti v2.2(w); me v2.2. III: fe p1d3r1; ti p2r2v1.2.1; me p2r2v0.2.0. IV: fe p2d3r1; ti p2d1r2v1.1.2; me p2r3v1.1.1.3. Palp: fe p1d2; pa 0; ti p1. Abdomen: full dorsal scute with short petiolar collar; post-epigastric sclerites long, wide; ventral scute broad, full, sides convex, hirsute with low glabrous mound at tracheal spiracle; lateral space between scutes narrow. Palp: tibia with deep ventral excavation: cymbium wide, apically truncate with 3–4 thick short black setae, apical scopula sparse; bulb large, high; pre-embolic ridge narrow; embolus short, forming corkscrew of one turn.

Allotype female QM S39577 View Materials . As ♂ except:

Carapace 1.88 long, 1.32 wide. Abdomen 2.60 long, 1.96 wide. Total length 4.5. Abdomen: dorsal scute in anterior 1/4, dark red-brown rounded square; otherwise gray brown with irregular white transverse band behind scute; medially pallid with two large spots of white hair in posterior 1/4. Two large white areas on each flank; ventrally with pallid zone behind booklungs and medially. Tracheal scute roundly triangular. Palp spines: fe p1d2; pa p1; ti p2; ta p1. Epigyne: with paragenital brackets, subquadrate with subdistal copulatory fossae leading anteriorly to large short bursa and folding back to smaller spermathecae.

Distribution and Habitat. Known from open forest in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
