Diagnosis. Tibial apophysis absent on male palp; paracymbial spine strong (e.g., Fig. 74a, b View FIGURE 74 ). In females, CO form pair of ovoid ridges, sometimes complete or closed, widely separated, and with additional groove and ridge below, with small spermathecal head and wide ducts to FD; males with small dorsal scute ( Fig. 75c View FIGURE 75 ), ventral scute present (most species) or absent ( N. semifuscus sp. nov.); embolus simple, spiralled. Abdomen with paired or unpaired patches of yellow or white feathery hairs. Femora III, IV with ( N. luteofinis sp. nov., N. semifuscus sp. nov.) or without ( N. coloripes Walckenaer, 1805 , N. jaredwardeni sp. nov.) distal constriction.
Included species: Nyssus coloripes , N. jaredwardeni sp. nov., N. luteofinis sp. nov., and N. semifuscus sp. nov.
