Diagnosis. Male Palp: tibial apophysis absent; paracymbial spine well developed ( N. avidus ) or vestigial to absent ( N. yuggera and N. loureedi ); embolus simple tight corkscrew. Females with small to medium-sized pair of CO leading to long slender ducts; males with full ventral and dorsal scutes. Carapace black to dark brown with radial lines of white hairs; males with large dorsal scute and usually ventral scute; abdomen dorsally black with transverse pallid bars.

Included species: Anchognatha avida Thorell, 1881 , Supunna insularis L. Koch, 1873 , Nyssus yuggera sp. nov. and N. loureedi sp. nov.
