Diagnosis. Differs from P. rawlinsonae sp. nov. in the carapace being entirely iridescent green with white scales; in males, the retrolateral subtegular lobe being larger, the straighter coniform paracymbial spine and the basal spiral of the embolus being lower than the final spiral. In females, the strongly ovoid shape of the copulatory ridges ( Fig. 122d View FIGURE 122 ) readily distinguish it from other species for which females are known in which the ridges are circular.

Description Male WAM 98/1668

Carapace 2.38 long, 1.35 wide. Abdomen 2.61 long, 1.28 wide. Totally, 5.2.

Colour: carapace iridescent green with white scale-like hairs, abdominal scute and legs dark red brown with paler tarsi; abdomen with tuft of white hair above spinnerets. Carapace: cuticle finely rugose with scattered large white scale-like hairs. Distinctly serrate keeled margin; fovea set just anterior to short posterior slope. No prefoveal saddle; lightly arched caput; eyes highest. Legs: large white paddle-shaped hairs on basal femora, in band on retrodorsal edge of III and IV; femur IV and to lesser extent III with distinct subdistal constriction. Spines: I: fe d3; ti v2.2.1; me v2.2. II: fe d3; ti v2.2; me v2.2. III: fe p2d3r1; pa d1; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.2. IV: fe p1d3r1; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.2. Palp: fe p1d2; pa p1; ti p2. Palp: cymbium strongly twisted distally and forming narrow subdistal trough; large retrolateral subtegular lobe; straight coniform paracymbial spine; embolus distally recurves twice. Abdomen: ventral scute narrow, long, laterally straight, posteriorly widest; petiolar collar short.

Female WAM 98/1668 like ♂ except as follows:

Carapace 2.40 long, 1.47 wide. Abdomen 2.44 long, 1.44 wide. Totally, 5.0.

Colour: abdomen with strong iridescent green-brown scute for anterior one-third (one-fifth in holotype); otherwise dorsally dark brown with two narrow transverse bands of white hair in posterior half, and tuft of white hair above spinnerets; laterally a wide sash of white hairs sweep down to median brown rectangular marking ventrally. Legs dark brown with spots of white hair retrolaterally on distal femora, and basal and distal tibiae III and IV. Epigyne: strongly sclerotised shield with two large transverse ovoid fossae centrally separated by long narrow ridge; each fossa with distal trough with shallow tongue-like depression basally; from each fossa, copulation duct passes forward, reflexes back then forward, crossing transversely to apical lobe folding dorsally and in long narrow spermathecae with basal sphere.

Distribution. Known from south-western Western Australia.

Remarks. Material trapped in Gault's solution showed loss of iridescence.
