Material. South Australia: holotype ♀, 5 km SW Tinda Catch , 33°57'00"S, 139°54'40"E, Pitfall NK0101, 2 Oct 1992, NPWS GoogleMaps South Olary Plains Survey , SAMA NN8277 About SAMA .
Diagnosis. The female differs from those of all other species in the P. carnarvon species group by the very large copulatory fossae.
Etymology. The species epithet is a noun in apposition from the type locality.
Description Holotype female SAMA NN8277
Carapace 2.34 long, 1.56 wide. Abdomen 2.13 long, 1.41 wide. Total length 4.5.
Colour: carapace and dorsal abdominal scute dark reddish brown with greenish tinge and white feathery scales. Femora dark brown, tibiae basally brown, fading to yellow brown. White scales on femora. Eyes: AME>PLE>>PME>ALE. Chelicerae: at least three large serrate setae on low fang shield. Sternum: surface distinctly reticulated. Tracheal spiracle a half oval, spiracle on straight edge. Legs: femur III with slight constriction; IV absent. Spines: patella spines only on palp. I: fe p1d2; ti v2.2; me v2.2. II: fe d3; ti v1.1; me v2.2. III: fe p2d3r1; pa d1; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.2. IV, absent. Palp: fe p1d2; pa p1d1; ti p2. Epigyne: pair of very large copulatory fossae form septum anteriorly but joined posteriorly; similarly, very large spermathecae.
Distribution. Known only from Tinda Catch , South Australia.
