Range:— Peru and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC).

Ecology:— Uncommon; terrestrial in humid forests; 400–1700 m, to sea level elsewhere.

Notes:— Differs from the commoner A. tricholepis by crenate pinna margins, minute, appressed, dark brown hairs abaxially on the blade surfaces ( vs. glabrous), and terrestrial habit ( vs. epiphytic).
