COMMENTS
The label of the holotype is confusing for the location, Diafarabé was handwritten and it took a while to find the place. In the original description, the location is “ Senegal, N’Bour (A. Villiers) type. Soudan (A. Pitot)”. André Villiers was a French entomologist with a large collection in Paris. Soudan is an old name for the complete Sahel, and does not refer to the current Sudan. M’Bour is a coastal city in Senegal, but not on the label. The city Diafarabé is in Mali. Note also that there was the “Colony of Upper Senegal and Niger”, Upper Senegal (or in French “Haute Senegal ”) is the name of the colony which corresponds mainly to current Mali and Burkina Faso.
In several locations, this species is found together with P. krelli . When the two species are mixed, the females could not be identified.
