Remarks.

Macromotettixoides angustivertex Zha & Peng was described by Peng et al. (2021) and was later transferred to the genus Hainantettix by Subedi (2022). We examined the type specimen of Hainantettix strictivertex Deng, 2020 . Although we did not examine the type material of M. angustivertex from Hainan, according to the original description and photographs of the type specimens in Peng et al. (2021), we found that the two species share identical morphological structures, type locality, and coloration. These two taxa are conspecific and characterized by the vertex very strongly narrowed towards the front drawing the eyes together; antennal grooves inserted below inferior margin of compound eyes; rami strongly divergent, width of longitudinal furrow of frontal ridge is distinctly wider than antennal groove diameter.
