Conservation status. BC: S4

Distributional notes. This therevid is recorded in British Columbia from Vancouver Island (Bowser, Nanaimo) east to the Okanagan Valley (Oliver, Vernon) and Columbia River (Robson). Its range probably includes the southern valleys east to the Rocky Mountains and north to the Thompson drainage, based on data from adjacent jurisdictions.

Ecoprovinces and other designations. BC: Georgia Depression, Southern Interior, Southern Interior Mountains.

Range. Western. British Columbia east to Ontario, south to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California; Mexico ( Webb et al. 2013).

Biological notes: Flight period: 30 May–8 October. In British Columbia, O. signatipennis has been collected in a shrub thicket ( Rosa woodsii and Crataegus douglasii ) in Festuca grassland, in an aspen draw in Pinus ponderosa woodland, and along a sandy lakeshore.
