Indonesia records: South coast of Kangean Island, northern part of West Nusa Tenggara ( Bali Sea), Sailus Kecil and Sailus Besar Islands, Kawasang Island (Flores Sea), Laiwui, Obi Island ( Maluku Sea) ( Hansen 1910), Java Sea ( Delsman 1939) and Strait of Malacca ( Pillai 1973). Depth range: Vertical net at 22 and 23 m, from plankton net at the sea surface ( Hansen 1910) and at 35–40 m ( Delsman 1939).

Tattersall 1960, 1965), East Pacific Ocean (O.S. Tattersall 1962; Băcescu 1975), Japan ( Ii 1964), Gulf of Mexico ( Hopkins 1966; Stuck et al. 1979; Modlin 1984; Price et al. 1986), Bahamas and Florida ( Brattegard 1970), Caribbean Sea ( Brattegard 1973; Price et al. 2002), East China Sea ( Wang & Liu 1997) and Indian Ocean (W.M. Tattersall 1922; Pillai 1964, 1965, 1973; Panampunnayil 2002).
