Indonesia records: Northern part of West Nusa Tenggara ( Bali Sea), Sailus Kecil Island, between Bahuluang and Tambolongan, Selayar Islands (Flores Sea), Sebangkatan Island (Makassar Strait), north Sulawesi ( Sulawesi Sea), Ternate, Damar Island ( Maluku Sea), northern part of Seram Island, West Obi Island (Seram Sea), east Sulabes Island, east Pagama Island, south Lucipara Island, northeast Banda Island (Banda Arc) ( Hansen 1910), southern part of Java Island ( Pillai 1973) and western part of Sumatra Island (Indian Ocean) ( Taniguchi 1974). Depth range: Plankton net at sea surface ( Hansen 1910) and non-closing vertical net at 921 to 956 m ( Taniguchi 1974).
Global distribution: This species has a very wide distribution in the Western Pacific ( Sars 1885; Ii 1964; Cai 1984; Murano & Fukuoka 2008), Central Pacific ( Ortmann 1905; W.M.
