Genus Hyalomma View in CoL View at ENA
Hyalomma View in CoL ticks are found in nearly all provinces of Pakistan. Among these ticks, Hy. anatolicum Koch, 1844 , is the most prevalent species and has been reported from several hosts. Hyalomma schulzei Olenev, 1931 View in CoL , and Hyalomma turanicum Pomerantzev, 1946 View in CoL , were the least reported species in literature as well as in the present study. In Pakistan, 12 Hyalomma View in CoL species have been reported on various hosts: Hyalomma aegyptium (Linnaeus, 1758) View in CoL , Hy. anatolicum , Hyalomma asiaticum Schulze and Schlottke, 1930 , Hyalomma brevipunctata Sharif, 1928 View in CoL , Hyalomma dromedarii Koch, 1844 View in CoL , Hyalomma hussaini Sharif, 1928 View in CoL , Hyalomma impeltatum Schulze and Schlottke, 1930 View in CoL , Hyalomma isaaci Sharif, 1928 , Hyalomma kumari Sharif, 1928 View in CoL , Hy. schulzei View in CoL , Hyalomma scupense Schulze, 1919 , and Hy. turanicum View in CoL ( Fig. 24) ( Kaiser & Hoogstraal 1964; McCarthy 1967; Begum et al. 1970b; Apanaskevich et al. 2008, 2009, 2010; Apanaskevich & Horak 2008, 2009, 2010; Karim et al. 2017; Rehman et al. 2017; Ali et al. 2019, 2020, 2021; Kasi et al. 2020; Ghafar et al. 2020b; Kamran et al. 2021; Alam et al. 2022; Khan Z et al. 2022; Zeb et al. 2022; Hussain et al. 2023; Ullah S et al. 2023, 2024; Aneela et al. 2023; Tila et al. 2023; Shehla et al. 2023; Khan M et al. 2023). Our tick collections confirmed the presence of eight Hyalomma View in CoL species: Hy. anatolicum , Hy. asiaticum , Hy. dromedarii View in CoL , Hy. isaaci , Hy. kumari View in CoL , Hy. schulzei View in CoL , Hy. scupense , and Hy. turanicum View in CoL .
