Genus Ornithodoros View in CoL View at ENA
Ornithodoros View in CoL species have been reported from different localities in Shangla, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bajuar, and Orakzai, infesting Asian water buffaloes and their sheds in high mountainous regions. Three Ornithodoros View in CoL species have been reported in Pakistan: Ornithodoros papillipes (Birula, 1895) View in CoL , Ornithodoros tholozani (Laboulbène and Mégnin, 1882) View in CoL , and possibly the new species Ornithodoros ( Pavlovskyella) pakistanensis ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ) ( Doss 1974; Hoogstraal 1985; Karim et al. 2017; Ali et al. 2022b, 2024c). Morphological identification of ticks collected during this survey confirmed the presence only of Or. ( Pavlovskyella) pakistanensis .
